The Health Specialist for the Head Start Agency administers and implements health services for pregnant mothers and children infancy through age 5. Reviews health screenings and assessments, works with Teachers and families to ensure health screenings are completed as designated by the EPSDT schedule, and promotes child well-being through health education activities for children and their families. Requires accurate data entry and data management skills to ensure compliance with grant requirements. Manages Worksite Wellness program to promote staff well-being. Works as part of a collaborative team with other Head Start Specialists.
Full year position. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree preferably in nursing. A licensed LPN or other health degree may be considered. Candidate must be able to work independently, possess good time management and organizational skills, and have the ability to problem-solve. Travel within a 5-county area is required. Benefits include health, dental, life, retirement, and more. $43,280.88 - $47,785.58 per year depending on degree and experience. The Health Specialist position is eligible for monthly incentive payments of up to $250, which is scheduled to last through January 2024.
